MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – Every year since 2017, a crop of sculptures has sprung up in downtown Milwaukee to be admired by passersby strolling along city streets. Some are serious, some are whimsical and some almost defy explanation, such as the pillar of Coleman and Igloo coolers in this year’s collection. Some of the pieces become permanent, while others disappear as winter settles in.

The endeavor is called Sculpture Milwaukee, and it is the brainchild of Steve Marcus, chairman of Marcus Corp., which owns hotel properties such as the historic Pfister Hotel and the Saint Kate Arts Hotel, both in Milwaukee, and other properties.
Here is a selection of Sculpture Milwaukee pieces from 2019-2021. Look for more next spring.
