Honea Leads Scot Golfers at Piedmont

MARYVILLE, TN -- Maryville College freshman and 2011 Alcoa High graduate Zach Honea followed up an opening round 76 with a second round of 75 for a two day total of 151 and a 5th place individual finish in the Piedmont Fall Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club in Clarkesville, GA.

With only four players playing in round two the team made an improvement of 13 strokes over their opening round but still struggled to a 7th place finish in the field of eight teams. The Scots played shorthanded due to a hand injury suffered by two year letterman JT Randolph during the opening round.

The defending champion Scots' two day total of 329-316=645 was no match for the eventual winners Coastal Georgia who fired rounds of 300-294=594.

Maryville Individual Scores:
Zach Honea 76-75=151
Eric Hall 81-78=161
Eli Johnson 83-83=166
Reid Henderson 89-80=169

The Scots will be out of action until October 3-4 when they will be playing in the Berry College, Chick-Fil-A Invitational at Coosa Country Club in Rome, GA.
