Get a Discounted Ticket to Feb. 26 Lady Vols Game & Help Honor Pat Summitt

KNOXVILLE -- This year's "Senior Day" game for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers has a double meaning. Not only will the team's fourth-year players be honored for their contributions, but AARP will be celebrating Coach Pat Summitt's achievements as well.

AARP is reaching out to more than 700,000 Lady Vol fans in Tennessee and other Southeastern Conference states via email and social media, encouraging them to join us for the Feb. 26 game against Florida for the presentation of a national "Inspire Award" to Coach Summitt.

Fans may purchase tickets to the game for a discounted price of $8.50 ($7 + $1.50 processing fee) online until Friday, Feb. 24, based on availability: www.groupticketwindow.com, (Login: AARP. Password: ladyvols).

Each year, the "Inspire Awards" pay tribute to outstanding individuals who inspire others to action through their innovative thinking, passion and perseverance. Coach Summitt was among the honorees profiled in the December-January edition of AARP The Magazine. Summitt has led her team to eight NCAA national championships and won more games than any other NCAA college basketball coach.

"Pat Summitt simply epitomizes the word 'inspiration,'" said AARP Tennessee State Director Rebecca Kelly, a Tennessee native and long-time fan of the Lady Vols. "I have long admired her passion, commitment and tenacity – and the love she has shown for her team, colleagues, friends and family. So have thousands of people across the nation."

Fans are encouraged to visit AARP Tennessee's Facebook page and share thoughts about Pat Summitt at www.facebook.com/aarptennessee. The most inspiring comments will be included in AARP's presentation to the coach.
