NASHVILLE, TN — Following a massive turnout of 400+ residents at a Brentwood town hall, and with a Fox 17 viewer poll showing 90% of Tennesseans believe U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn should face her opponent in a debate, the Jerri Green for Governor campaign is amplifying pressure on the absentee senator's refusal to face voters.
While everyday Tennesseans packed a room, overflowing into the hallways, just ten minutes from her local residence, Blackburn was a ghost. Instead of answering to constituents, Blackburn skipped out on her congressional responsibilities, dodging a high-profile Senate Judiciary Committee hearing featuring former Special Counsel Jack Smith. Rather than doing her job, she chose to grandstand, skipping the hearing to file a self-serving lawsuit against Smith tied to the fallout of the January 6th investigation, seeking to score political points and weaponize her office instead of facing her constituents.
| Tennesseans are struggling everyday, from the high cost of gas and groceries to skyrocketing healthcare expenses, underfunded public education that's failing our kids, and the looming impact of massive data centers straining our communities' natural resources and power grid. These are the issues working families are grappling with everyday, and they deserve a leader who is willing to talk about them face-to-face said Green following last night’s townhall.
Voters deserve to hear their candidates address these issues, side by side on the debate stage. This is a job interview for the highest office in Tennessee, and so far, I’m the only one showing up.

She centers her campaign on public education, health care access, and getting corruption out of politics.
