KNOXVILLE - Dignity Memorial Homeless/Unclaimed Veteran Burial Program, the Knox County Regional Forensic Center, and East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery invite all veterans and individuals who wish to attend a memorial service for three unclaimed veterans to the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.

The ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm, EST, May 6, 2026. Officiating will be Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs and Chaplain Dr. Pat Polis, Vietnam Veterans of America.

There will be a motorcycle escort by numerous East Tennessee Bike Chapters.

Full Military Honors will be provided for:

• TSG Brian Neil Forbes, US Air Force, (1971-1987)
• PFC Robert James Vargo, US Army (1978)
• SP4 George Edwin Day, Jr., US Army (1970-1972)

Those who wish to attend may meet at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920 at noon and those who wish to participate in the motorcycle escort to the cemetery may meet at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920 at 11:45 am and process to the cemetery.
