KNOXVILLE - Late last night, the Knox County Emergency Communications District received a 911 call reporting a fire at a residence located at 5733 Sunrise Drive. The caller indicated that they did not believe anyone was home at the time. Upon arrival, the first Knoxville Fire Department (KFD) truck found flames visible on the front exterior of the house.

Knoxville Fire Crews acted swiftly, successfully extinguishing the fire within 20 minutes of the initial call. The majority of the damage was confined to the exterior and attic space of an addition at the front of the home. Inside, the structure sustained only mild smoke and water damage.

The occupants of the home—two adults and two children—were away for several hours during the incident. Fortunately, the family dog, who remained inside, escaped unharmed. The homeowner was alerted to the situation by an alarm notification from their alarm company.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the fire. The Knoxville Fire Department’s Fire Investigations Unit is currently on scene, working diligently to determine the cause of the blaze.
