KNOXVILLE - The Knoxville Fire Department worked two residential fires in the wee hours of the morning. The first fire occurred at 2101 Keith Ave. Late last night, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Knox County Communications District received a call of a garage attached to the house on fire. KFD worked on the scene to get the fire extinguished for nearly an hour.

Engine 1 was the first company on the scene and reported that the garage and house were on fire. The crew made entry into the home to begin firefighting operations. The fire was heavy and took some time to extinguish. There were seven people and five dogs at the time of the fire.
There are no injuries to report.
Fire investigators remained on the scene trying to determine the cause.
The home suffered significant fire, smoke, and water damage and is uninhabitable.

The second fire occurred at 1330 Stair Avenue. At 1:35 a.m. this morning, firefighters were dispatched by KCCD for another working residential fire. When crews arrived, they saw fire on the front porch and at the front door. The first crews were able to extinguish the fire within ten minutes.
The home suffered some smoke, fire, and water damage, but it isn't a total loss. Seven residents were home at the time of the fire, and all evacuated safely.
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
Investigators remained on the scene to try to determine a cause.
