KNOX COUNTY - Barry Beeler, a lifelong Knox County resident, Christian conservative, and current Secretary of the Knox County Republican Party, today announced his candidacy for Knox County Commissioner in the 7th District.

barry beeler

Beeler, a Tennessee Wesleyan and University of Tennessee graduate and Powell resident, has filed his appointment of treasurer paperwork to run in the Republican Primary on May 5, 2026. As a husband, father, and dedicated public servant, Beeler is committed to continuing strong conservative leadership in one of Knox County's most conservative districts.

"I am humbled and honored to seek the opportunity to represent the hard-working folks of District 7 on the Knox County Commission," said Beeler. "As a lifelong resident of Knox County and staunch conservative, I will fight for low taxes, limited government, fiscal responsibility, and traditional East Tennessee Christian values."

Beeler pledges to deliver a solid conservative vote on key issues, including:

• Keeping taxes low and ensuring responsible stewardship of the county budget
• Prioritizing improved infrastructure and development that is friendly to current homeowners and existing neighborhoods
• Advocating for reasonable public utility rates and attending the open Board of Director’s meetings to keep constituents informed
• Challenging reckless development that burdens families and taxpayers
• Defending traditional family values and the rule of law

With 27 years experience as a safety and industrial hygiene professional advocating for hardworking employees, Beeler brings a proven record of integrity and service. He actively serves as Secretary of the Knox County Republican Party, supports the Tennessee Republican Party's Guiding Principles (found at tngop.org/), and is involved in the  Watchmen and GriefShare ministries at Calvary Knoxville.

Beeler maintains a biblical worldview and firmly supports originalist interpretation of the U.S. and Tennessee Constitutions. He echoes the Declaration of Independence's truth that all are endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

"Thank you to Commissioner Rhonda Cox Lee for your strong conservative leadership," Beeler added. "I am ready to pick up where you leave off, fighting for the issues impacting our families with integrity and  principle.”

He humbly asks for prayers, support, and votes from District 7 residents in the May 5, 2026 Republican primary.

Early voting is April 15 – April 30, 2026.
