KNOX COUNTY, TN - During his Weekly Update, Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs talked about improvements with AMR’s new contract, the latest Advance Knox meeting, and the Ready City USA kickoff event.
Mayor Jacobs highlighted the success of Knox County's ambulance service contract with AMR, which has now been in place for one year. Since implementation, the county has seen dramatic improvements in response times, aided by moving ambulance dispatch to E-911, deploying a quick response vehicle in the Mission District, and allowing AMR to contract for decedent transport.
“The success that we’ve had is due to collaboration among many different partners, so thank you to everyone who continues to help improve emergency response time and services,” said Mayor Jacobs.
The Mayor reminds residents that a recording from last week’s Advance Knox public meeting on proposed updates to Knox County’s zoning regulations is available online. The public feedback survey will remain open until February 10, 2026.
