Neyland Stadium Unveils New Gameday Enhancements

KNOXVILLE - Tennessee football fans can look forward to several new gameday enhancements at Neyland Stadium preserved by Pilot this fall, highlighted by a state-of-the-art sound system designed to deliver a clearer, more immersive in-venue experience.

As the presenting partner of the Neyland Stadium renovation project, Pilot continues to support efforts to modernize the iconic venue. Tennessee announced its historic partnership with Pilot in 2024, with the shared goal of preserving Neyland Stadium for future generations.

“Year after year, we will continue to give Vol Nation the best in-venue college football experience in the country,” said Alicia Longworth, Tennessee deputy athletics director and chief marketing officer. “We appreciate Pilot’s partnership in helping us make that a reality. From a new sound system to our new Champions Corner that honors our winning tradition, we are excited for our fans to experience these new elements at Neyland Stadium this fall.”


New Sound System

In collaboration with Danley Sound Labs, Stellar Vision and Sound, and Precision Audio, Neyland Stadium has installed an advanced sound system designed to improve both volume and clarity throughout the venue.

The south videoboard speaker stacks were fully replaced with hundreds of individual drivers housed in larger enclosures that operate as a single source. Dozens of amplifiers and more than 500,000 watts of power will help cover the stadium beneath the south overhang, as well as the north side of the east and west skyboxes.

The system includes:

- 15 subwoofers
- 11 large full-range loudspeakers
- 27 compact outdoor loudspeakers
- Updated under-balcony speakers installed before the 2024 season

Previously, Neyland Stadium did not have subwoofers. The new technology is intended to provide crisp, consistent audio for fans throughout the lower bowl and upper deck, including public-address announcements, music, referee-microphone audio and in-game sound.


Expanded Southeast Concourse

Fans on the third level of the south end zone will find an expanded concourse on the southeast corner near the elevators. New walk-through concession markets, similar to those on the north end, will be installed before the Kennesaw State game.

Additional improvements include:

- Removal of an outdated restroom
- Installation of 12 new restroom fixtures
- Eight new water-bottle filling stations
- Additional televisions throughout the third level


Champions Corner

Champions Corner will serve as a new centerpiece of the plaza outside Gate 9 on the southwest side of Neyland Stadium. The area will honor Tennessee’s national championship head coaches, including Gen. Robert Neyland, Doug Dickey and Phillip Fulmer.

The statue of Gen. Neyland, originally dedicated in 2010 on the west side of the stadium, moved to its permanent home at Champions Corner this summer. Statues recognizing Dickey and Fulmer are scheduled to be unveiled later this fall.

The plaza also features restrooms and new entry points. It will continue to host Truly’s Tailgate and Volunteer Gameday, a one-hour television program featuring “Voice of the Vols” Mike Keith, VFL Heath Shuler and WVLT-Knoxville’s Brittany Tarwater on the Tennessee Valley Sports Network.


Yellow Line and Down-and-Distance Technology

Beginning with the second game of the season, Tennessee will introduce a first-and-10 yellow line on the stadium videoboards. The technology will provide fans with a more accurate visual representation of down and distance during game action.

Fans can find concession locations and offerings throughout Neyland Stadium online, along with updated traffic-flow patterns around the venue.

Season tickets are sold out for the fourth consecutive year. Fans interested in future season tickets can complete the 2027 season-ticket interest form. Limited individual-game tickets remain available for the Furman and Kentucky contests at AllVols.com.
