
KNOXVILLE - The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Knoxville-First Flotilla, will present the BOAT AMERICA recreational boating safety course on Saturday, April 18th.
Taught by experienced, certified Coast Guard Auxiliarists, you will learn how to prepare, operate, and navigate your boat safely on local waters. Questions are strongly encouraged during class, and the instructors will be available for additional boating questions after class.
ttendees born on or after January 1, 1989, who pass the exam will receive a completion card that fulfills the Tennessee Boater Education Certificate requirements. Those who need the Tennessee Boater Education Certificate must first obtain a TWRA registration, which costs $10.00, and pay it separately to the issuing agency, such as Walmart or Academy Sports. This TWRA registration must be brought to class. The course fee is $30, separate from the TWRA registration fee, and must be paid in exact cash or check at the time of class.
The event will be held at Christ Covenant Church at 12915 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
