KNOX COUNTY - Parents, guardians, grandparents, employers, and healthcare providers now have a wide variety of education and resources.

The Knox County Health Department has launched a new campaign named Mighty Moments. Its purpose is to highlight the important roles of family and community when nurturing a child throughout childhood.

The Mighty Moments website (MightyMoments.org) includes information on:

• Family planning
• Prenatal care
• Nutrition
• Safe sleep
• Development milestones
• Postpartum support

"We know caregivers want the best for their children, and they’re already balancing so much,” said KCHD Health Planner Chelsea Gouty. “Finding reliable information should not be an added stressor. Our goal with this campaign was to create an accessible resource that hosts the vital information parents and caregivers need as they navigate pregnancy, infancy, and childhood."

The Mighty Moments project is funded through a grant contract with the State of Tennessee.

As the first health department in Tennessee to achieve national voluntary accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board, the Knox County Health Department (KCHD) is dedicated to ensuring that conditions exist so that every resident can be healthy.
