KNOXVILLE — At approximately 5:00 p.m. this evening, the Knoxville Fire Department (KFD) responded to a report of a possible fire in the parking garage of the Standard Apartment Complex located at 705 South 17th Street. Upon arrival, KFD crews quickly discovered furniture ablaze in the lower portion of the basement parking garage.
Firefighters acted swiftly to extinguish the flames, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the KFD’s follow-up investigation revealed that the fire had been intentionally set, prompting further inquiry into the incident.
KFD Fire Investigators are now seeking assistance from the public in identifying individuals captured in surveillance photographs who may have pertinent information related to the fire. The department encourages anyone who recognizes these individuals or has any details about the incident to come forward.
