KNOX COUNTY - Today at approximately 1:19 a.m., the Knox County Emergency Communications District received an urgent call about smoke emanating from a residence situated near Prosser Road and Magnolia Avenue.

Upon the arrival of KFD Engine 6, emergency responders located a home at 3929 Rutledge Pike that was engulfed in heavy flames in a rear room. KFD crews swiftly entered the premises and successfully extinguished the fire within a quick span of 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the home sustained significant interior damage as a result of the incident.

At the time of the fire, the home was unoccupied and had no utility services available. However, KFD crews were informed that a person may have been residing in the house.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Knoxville Fire Investigators, who are diligently examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

No injuries have been reported as a result of this fire.
