KNOXVILLE - This evening at 7:12 P.M., the Knox County Emergency Communications District received an urgent call reporting a fire at a residence located at 7700 Pinner Drive. The caller stated that one of the occupants was attempting to extinguish the flames, which were rapidly increasing in intensity.
Upon arrival, the first units from the Knoxville Fire Department (KFD) observed heavy fire emanating from the rear of the home. KFD crews quickly initiated an interior fire attack and successfully gained control of the situation within approximately 20 minutes of the initial emergency call.
Remarkably, there were no reported injuries among the three occupants of the home, comprising two adult males and one adult female. Unfortunately, the residence has been declared a total loss.
The Knoxville Fire Department's Fire Investigations unit is currently on site to determine the cause of the fire. In response to the incident, the American Red Cross is providing assistance to the displaced occupants. Further updates will be released as more information becomes available.
