BLOUNT COUNTY - Covenant Health, along with partners and community leaders, officially broke ground Dec. 10 on Covenant Health Springbrook, a new 60,000-plus-square-foot medical facility that will bring comprehensive medical care closer to home for Blount County families. The development of the campus expands on Covenant Health’s existing high-quality care in Blount County and represents one of the system’s most significant outpatient investments across its 25-county service area.
The campus will provide the community with convenient access to a variety of healthcare services in a single, highly accessible location just off Alcoa Highway. Healthcare services will include urgent care, primary care, cardiology, medical oncology, infusion therapy, physical therapy, diagnostic imaging and time-share clinic space, plus an orthopaedic clinic with significant room for future expansion.
“Covenant Health Springbrook campus is an expansion of Covenant Health’s long-standing commitment to Blount County families,” Covenant Health CEO Jim VanderSteeg said. “Our vision is to make Alcoa a hub for advanced, patient-centered care where technology, expertise and compassion come together.”
The first phase of the campus will provide convenient access to a wide range of healthcare services. The first floor will include urgent care, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and an orthopaedic clinic operated by Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic. A primary care clinic will be located on the second floor, along with cardiology and medical oncology and infusion services.
“We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare that Blount County families can trust,” VanderSteeg said. “The development of this medical campus demonstrates a step forward for our mission to improve quality of life through better health.”
The new medical campus is being developed as a partnership with Covenant Health, Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic and Realty Trust Group, which is managing development, financing and construction for the project.
The Springbrook campus, located at 1440 Tesla Blvd. in Alcoa, is expected to open in early 2027.
