House fire suffers fire and smoke damage

KNOXVILLE - This evening at 8:08 PM, The Knox County 911 Emergency Communications District received multiple calls for a possible house on fire on Gap road with someone still inside.

On arrival of the initial Knoxville Fire Department units, smoke was reported coming from the front of the home. KFD Engine 7 crew made a fast attack on the fire and knocked it down within three minutes of arrival.

During this time, KFD crews located a person inside the home and removed the victim from the structure to an awaiting ambulance crew. The person was immediately transported to the hospital by AMR.

The structure has suffered moderate fire and smoke damage.

Knoxville Fire Investigators are on the scene and are working to determine a cause.
