KNOXVILLE - At approximately 3:23 a.m., a call was made to Knox County 911 stating that their house was on fire. Upon arrival of the first company, they stated there was heavy smoke coming from the rear of the home. The crew from Engine company 13 pulled an attack line to the rear of the home where they found heavy fire.

KFD did an offensive fire attack, meaning they entered the structure to contain the fire. The fire was mostly contained to the rear of the home. The house suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage.

The occupants were still in the home at the time of the fire. It was stated by the caller that they were trying to get dogs out of the home.

All occupants were able to evacuate as well as most of the dogs. There were 11 people staying in the home and 13 dogs. Knoxville animal control was dispatched to transport the animals.
