Mosaic Warriors organize town hall with lawyers of California slumlord and elected officials
Published November 20, 2023

The Mosaic Warriors Tenant Union called a town hall to continue to demand that their right to dignified housing be heard. Following 66 Codes complaints against the California slumlord Bond Companies, Bond Companies agrees to meet with residents in Glenview Elementary. Local and federal representatives will weigh in on their capacity to support.

NASHVILLE, TN — Bond Company lawyers and local and state officials are meeting with Mosaic Apartments residents this evening to hear the residents’ concerns over the deplorable living conditions of the property, owned by slumlord Bond Companies.

Last week, the Mosaic Warriors Tenant Union and Poder Popular supported residents in filing 66 Codes complaints to address the serious maintenance and infrastructural issues they have been dealing with for months (some of them for years) and met with Council member Bradford to support the campaign. The Mosaic Warriors Tenants Union stands united in condemnation of the Bond Company’s gross negligence and failure to maintain their properties.

Tenants are charged exorbitant rents for the privilege of an array of hazardous and unlivable conditions – including cockroach infestations, black mold, bathtubs filled with foul sewage, sewage runoffs, exploding stoves, crumbling stairs, dark hallways, danger, unpredictable and inflated charges, and unanswered requests for solutions.

On November 13th, the Mosaic Warriors addressed Council Bradford for support on struggle, following 66 Codes complaints placed by residents. Residents attempted to address their concerns over the high rent and negligence at Mosaic Apartments. Back in 2021, the Mosaic Warriors Tenant Union successfully blocked the eviction of dozens of households on a mere three days' notice. Bond Companies was the landlord at that time.

The Mosaic Warriors Tenant Union is receiving capacity and strategic support from Poder Popular (Nashville People Power Committee) and A Luta Sigue.
