Structure fire at 2202 McCalla Ave causes heavy damage

KNOXVILLE - This morning at 3:58 AM, the Knox County Emergency Communications District received a call for a house that had thick black smoke coming from it in the 2200 block of McCalla Avenue. On arrival of the first KFD unit the officer reported heavy smoke and fire at 2202 McCalla.

Initial KFD crews made a quick attack on the fire but was met with heavy fire conditions and it appeared that the fire had been burning for sometime. The incident commander deemed the fire under control at 4:36 AM.





There was no one home at the time of the fire. The home was under renovations.

The structure has suffered heavy fire damage and the roof has partially collapsed.

KFD fire investigators are in the scene working to determine a cause. If anyone has any information about the fire, they are requested a call 865-637-1386. All calls are anonymous.
