KNOXVILLE -- Last week the U.S. Department of Transportation announced funding for the Center for Freight Transportation for Efficient and Resilient Supply Chain.
The new center will be housed in the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Center for Transportation Research and will address the challenges in freight transportation system design, planning, operations and innovations in national and global supply chains through research, education, workforce development and technology transfer activities.
“The state of Tennessee plays a critical role in the U.S. freight network, and UT is committed to conducting transformational work in future mobility in support of both new technology advancements and the creation of a skilled workforce for Tennessee and the nation,” said UT Vice Chancellor for Research Deb Crawford.
