Sea ops keep troops ready for action

WASHINGTON, DC -- Ships and aircraft assigned to the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, with the embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducted combined expeditionary strike force operations in the South China Sea.

The groups trained together to advance interoperability while simultaneously demonstrating U.S. commitment to allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.

The operations demonstrated unique high-end war fighting capability, maritime superiority, power projection and readiness.
