Temporary lane closures on Gum Stand Bridge to begin June 5

GATLINBURG, TN -- Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials announced temporary, single-lane closures of the Gum Stand Bridge located between the northbound and southbound Spur starting Monday, June 5. Work is expected to last one week, weather depending, while crews with Bryant’s Land Development repair the stone walls on the bridge.

Although there will not be lane closures on the Spur itself, traffic in the southbound and northbound turn lanes may experience minor delays to accommodate the single-lane closure on the bridge.

Motorists are asked to use extra caution, slow down in work zones, and to pay attention to signs and instructions from flaggers. Road closure status is available on the park’s Current Road, Facility, Trail and Backcountry Updates webpage.
