House Fire at 5616 Paula Road

KNOX COUNTY -- At 1:06 PM today, the Knox County 911 Center received a call for a possible electrical fire in a residence at 5616 Paula Road.

The caller stated she was exiting the home and could see flames in the front room. The caller had been asleep and was awakened by her dog.
On arrival of KFD, smoke was showing from the front of the residence. KFD units immediately entered the home and found a small fire in the front room, where the caller had stated she believed the fire to be. KFD was quickly able to extinguish the fire. However, the home has sustained significant fire and smoke damage.
No injuries have been reported. Two adults and one child occupy the home. Only one adult was at home at the time of the fire.
The occupant and her dog were able to escape without injury.
The home does have working smoke detectors.
Knoxville Fire Department investigators are on the scene working to determine a cause.
