Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program returns to Knox County for Summer 2022
June 24, 2022

KNOX COUNTY -- The Knox County Health Department’s Women Infant and Children (WIC) program welcomes the return of the popular Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program for Summer 2022. This program offers an additional $30 for each woman and child already participating in WIC to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at local WIC-approved Farmers' Markets throughout July and August.

“By partnering with the Farmers’ Markets, it allows us to offer a fun opportunity for these families to meet their local farmers and learn about local veggies and fruits,” said Sarah Griswold, WIC Nutrition Program Manager. “It also helps to support our local economy and introduce more people to the healthy farm to table movement.”

For those who are interested in participating in the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, the vouchers will be available for pick-up June 27 – July 1 at the Knox County Health Department, 140 Dameron Ave. The WIC team will be in front of KCHD in the United Way ChangeMobile from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. In addition, vouchers will be available for pick-up at the WIC table at the participating Farmers Markets throughout July.
