New Harvest Farmers' Market opens for the season

KNOXVILLE -- Nourish Knoxville has opened the 2022 New Harvest Farmers’ Market season.

Visitors can expect to find a wide variety of locally grown seasonal produce, meats, eggs, honey products, plants and garden starts, prepared foods, and artisan craft products from over 15 local, East Tennessee vendors! In addition to the farmers’ market, Nourish Knoxville will be hosting FREE, family-friendly activities during the market including chalk art, giant bubble making, yard games, and a park-wide scavenger hunt with prizes!

“We’re really looking forward to the Nourish Move scavenger hunt,” says Mickayla Joruff, Program Coordinator with Nourish Knoxville. “It’s a fun way to get active, get to know New Harvest Park, and earn free produce and prizes! What else could you ask for?”






Throughout the 2022 season, the New Harvest Farmers’ Market will also play host to several programs, services, and events including:

Nourish Kids: FREE opportunities for kids ages 2 – 12 to engage in the local food system through fun and educational activities! Every participant leaves with a local fruit or vegetable sample and $5 in Produce Bucks to spend on produce at the market! This project is made possible through a Grant Contract with the State of Tennessee and the generous support of Bank of America. Every 3rd Thursday, April through September.

Nourish Moves: a FREE incentivized walking program designed to encourage a more active lifestyle. Participants aged 2+ pick up pedometers from our Community Booth then get active at the market and surrounding park. Each visit, the participants earn $3 in Produce Bucks to spend on produce at the market! Frequent walkers earn bonus prizes once they reach certain visits and steps milestones! This project is funded under a Grant Contract with the State of Tennessee. Every Thursday, April – September.





Educational Programming: Farmers’ Market Fresh: a Knox County Extension program featuring FREE food preparation demonstrations and samples as well as FREE recipes featuring local & seasonal ingredients and kitchen tool giveaways- Every Thursday, May 5 – June 23. Canning 101 – July 28. Fall Planting – August 25.

Back to School Days – August 11
Closing Day Celebration – September 29

SNAP & SNAP Doubling - Nourish Knoxville will continue to offer SNAP & P-EBT processing & doubling this season at the New Harvest Farmers’ Market. SNAP & P-EBT transactions will be doubled, up to $20 per day, in Double Up Food Bucks tokens that are redeemable at the market for FREE fresh fruits and vegetables.

“The New Harvest Farmers’ Market will truly have something for everybody this season,” says Ellie Moore, Markets Manager with Nourish Knoxville. “We have an amazing group of vendors plus a fantastic lineup of activities that celebrate the season and bring together our East Knoxville community!”

The New Harvest Farmers’ Market will be open every Thursday, rain or shine, through September 29 from 3 - 6 p.m.
