ReVIDA Recovery Centers expands access to all Tennessee Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare members
September 2, 2021

BCBS, UnitedHealthcare beneficiaries now eligible for
ReVIDA’s addiction treatment services

JOHNSON CITY, TN – ReVIDA Recovery Centers now welcomes all Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and UnitedHealthcare beneficiaries for both commercial and Medicare Advantage seeking evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder. By serving members from some of the top health insurers in the Volunteer state, ReVIDA is breaking down barriers to comprehensive, patient-centered treatment services both via telehealth and in person at its offices in Johnson City, Knoxville, Newport, and Morristown.

“ReVIDA is proud to continue to provide high quality evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder for our patients in Tennessee. Now thanks to industry leaders such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and UnitedHealthcare, we’re continuing to break down barriers to access and affordability for those seeking recovery services,” said Lee Dilworth, CEO of ReVIDA Recovery Centers.

ReVIDA welcomes patients who participate in both Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee’s commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid insurance programs, as well as UnitedHealthcare’s commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid plans. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee provides insurance to over 3.5 million members statewide, while UnitedHealthcare is one of the top five insurers in Tennessee.

According to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, only one in 10 people struggling with opioid use disorder receives treatment due to barriers such as lack of insurance or high out-of-pocket costs. In 2020, 3,000 Tennesseans died of a fatal overdose from opioids, according to the Tennessee Department of Health, a 44% rise in opioid-related overdose deaths compared to 2019.
