Parks & Recreation challenges residents to get active outdoors
March 25, 2021

KNOXVILLE - The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department is challenging residents to take part in 50 to 100 hours of outdoor activities and track their progress using new coloring sheets.

KORE 50/100 Challenge is a new initiative of Parks and Rec’s KORE (Knoxville Outdoor Recreation Experience) Program, which promotes a variety of outdoor sports and activities for all ages and fitness levels at parks across the city.

Coloring sheets to help participants track their hours engaged in outdoor activities are available in 50- and 100-hour versions. There are simple designs — like one star for each hour of activity — and paint-by-number-style scenes that will be familiar to visitors to area playgrounds and Urban Wilderness destinations.

“Tracking is a great way to set goals and visualize your accomplishments,” says Parks and Recreation Director Sheryl Ely. “These coloring sheets make it easy to track activities and fun for families to do together.”

Download forms at KnoxvilleTN.gov/KORE or pick up copies at a Recreation Center. Participants can submit their completed tracking sheets by 5 p.m. Monday, May 24, for the chance to win prizes, including Splash Passes to the City’s outdoor pools. Completed forms can be emailed to KPRD@KnoxvilleTN.gov or mailed to:

Mayor Kincannon is participating in the KORE 50/100 challenge and will fill out her own coloring sheet. Look for “KORE with Mayor K” opportunities to be announced soon.
