KNOXVILLE – Knox County Mayor, Glenn Jacobs, and Commissioner, Carson Dailey, and other City officials joined with Seymour Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) members and volunteers for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, September 21 at SVFD Station 2. The station is located at 7915 Chapman Hwy.

This ribbon cutting signifies the completion of SVFD’s Station 2 expansion project which was recently completed. This project was necessary in order to meet the needs of the growing residential and commercial population in the South Knox County community. This expansion added sleeping quarters for stand-by volunteer personnel and additional bay housing for apparatus and equipment.

Knox County government’s partnership with SVFD on the Station 2 expansion project will make a lasting impact on the South Knoxville Community for generations to come.

SVFD would like to thank Mayor Jacobs, Commissioner Dailey and all who have given to support the SVFD Capital Campaign. The financial support that has been given to SVFD’s Capital Campaign provides a life-saving emergency response for the protection of the community.
