Over the last four years, Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota has donated a total of $40,000 to UT Medical Center Cancer Institute to support breast cancer research and outreach. This year’s donation for $10,000 will once again benefit the Breast Health Outreach Program, which provides screenings and education for women in East Tennessee.

Supporting breast cancer research and outreach is a priority for Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota. “We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, so we are honored to make a contribution towards fighting cancer in East Tennessee with the help of Toyota USA and our customers,” said Peter Renzulli, Sales Manager. Fourteam members from Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota took part in the presentation with the Cancer Institute.

“We remain grateful for the incredible partnership and support we have received from Rick McGill Toyota. I am in awe of the energy exhibited by the McGill team members whose efforts result in donation dollars which are put to community use in East Tennessee. Without their encouragement and philanthropic support, our Breast Health Outreach Program would not be able to reach the thousands of women annually who benefit from education programs and screening mammograms. These women would otherwise go without these services which could lead to unnecessary deaths from breast cancer. We thank them for their efforts,” said Dr. John L. Bell.

BHOP is a unique grant-funded program that provides essential breast health services in 21 East Tennessee Counties. In addition to providing mobile mammography, free breast health educational classes are offered on-site to businesses, churches, and other convenient community locations throughout the region. These classes focus on the importance of early detection including screening guideline updates and warning signs of breast cancer.
