Hospitals all over the U.S. are running out of the medical N95 masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After learning of the shortage of N95 masks in local Knoxville hospitals, Mosquito Joe of Knoxville owners Scott and Stephanie Wheatley donated over 100 of their remaining N95 masks to Emory Family Practice.

The Mosquito Joe of Knoxville technicians typically use N95 masks while performing the treatment services they provide to customers when eliminating mosquitoes, ticks and fleas from customers’ properties. The Wheatleys have decided to revamp their current business operation by having their technicians utilize the brand’s respirators instead, which can be safely reused for all services provided to customers. This simple shift in business operations allowed Mosquito Joe to support the local community during this difficult time.

“At Mosquito Joe, we’ve always valued being a leader in the local community, and we’re taking the appropriate steps as a business owner to give back however we can to people in need in our area,” said Scott. “We donated our N95 masks to Emory Family Practice, who have cared for our family since we moved to Powell. We hope this small gesture inspires other local businesses and families to do their part to unite our community during this critical time.”
