The Knoxville Mortgage Bankers Association has been selected as Tennessee Mortgage Bankers Association (TNMBA) Chapter of the Year, according to an announcement by TNMBA President Jeff Tucker, CMB.
“KMBA has some very committed members and passionate leaders,” Tucker said. “The officers of TNMBA felt that those qualities—along with the chapter’s outstanding accomplishments—should be recognized as the TNMBA Chapter of the Year for 2018 and held up as exemplary for other local chapters to emulate.”

• 5 members selected for participation in the inaugural TNMBA Future Leaders Academy.
• Record-setting attendance of over 250 at the annual banquet and awards celebration.
• Increase attendance at monthly luncheons with nationally-renowned speakers addressing topics and issues of significance to the mortgage profession and home ownership.
• Second Harvest Knoxville: Fundraiser involving KMBA members, real estate professionals and affiliates. Raised hundreds of pounds of canned foods and $900.
• Knoxville Habitat for Humanity: Hosted a bowling tournament and raised $4,000.
• Salvation Army: Ticket to December luncheon was an unused toy. Provided car full of toys that found their way under the trees of many happy children on Christmas Day.
• High participation by chapter members in the Great River Conference.
• Updating and approval of chapter bylaws.
• Donated $1,500 to TNPAC.
“In 2018, KMBA focused on strengthening and growing their chapter,” said Tucker. “Meaningful member events, leveraging affiliate relationships, giving back to the Knoxville community, and participating in TNMBA initiatives all combined to make it easy to select them as the TNMBA Chapter of the Year. They have clear plans to continue their development this year and there is no doubt they will meet their goal of increasing its membership by 15% in 2019.”
