Tom Hardin, Robert Shaw Fulton retiree, passes away
November 18, 2010


tom hardinHARDIN, GEORGE THOMAS "TOM" - age 69 of Knoxville went to meet his Savior on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center-St. Mary's. Tom sang in the First Baptist Church choir, was Sunday school teacher of the Friendship class for several years, and helped conduct church services at Shannondale Nursing Home. He retired from Robert Shaw Fulton after 33 years where he was active in the Management Club. After retirement he worked for 3 years at National Seating.





Tom was also a Kid's Hope USA mentor and a Big Brother and Big Sister mentor. He was an avid bluegrass fan, and enjoyed singing and playing the banjo and guitar.

Preceded in death by parents, James and Laura Hardin. Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Trecia Hardin; sister, Sara Beth Hardin (Charles) of Sevierville; brother, James C. Hardin of Fountain City; nieces, Carol McBryde (Wayne) of Kodak, TN, Dee Curlee (Steve) of Columbia, SC; great nephews, Chris McBryde and Michael McBryde; great niece, Kimberley Curlee and numerous cousins. Special thanks to the staff at Hillcrest North Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. David Ward and Dr. Bill Shiell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Eastview Memorial Gardens for an 11 a.m. interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2200 Sutherland, Ste. H102 Knoxville, TN 37919, Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland 8900 State Line Rd.
