KNOXVILLE - This spring, Keep Knoxville Beautiful completed SchoolScapes projects at Vine Middle School and Adrian Burnett Elementary. These innovative landscaping and outdoor learning initiatives were designed to enrich the educational environment, promote environmental stewardship, and provide students with inspiring spaces for creativity and relaxation.
At Vine Middle School, the project transformed an underutilized area into a vibrant outdoor classroom, complete with native plant gardens and seating areas that encourage collaborative learning. Students played an active role in planting and maintaining the garden, fostering a strong connection to nature.

Similarly, Adrian Burnett Elementary saw the creation of a colorful sensory garden and interactive play spaces tailored to engage young learners. This new space supports hands-on exploration and enhances the school’s commitment to holistic education.
"We congratulate both schools on embracing sustainable design and providing their students with beautiful, functional outdoor spaces to learn and grow," said Maggie Meyers, Director of Development at Keep Knoxville Beautiful. "The SchoolScapes projects are a testament to our community’s dedication to nurturing future generations through thoughtful environmental design."
