Five Points Up Coalition hosts 10th annual Winter Wonderland event
December 2, 2023

KNOXVILLE — The Five Points Up Coalition, in partnership with the Knox County Health Department, will host its 10th annual Winter Wonderland community event on Dec. 14 at the Phyllis Wheatley YWCA from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.

“Over the past ten years, hundreds of community members and partners have participated in Winter Wonderland which builds relationships among those living in East Knoxville while also promoting available resources and services,” said Tanisha Baker, Chair of Five Points Up. “This year’s event promises to be even bigger and brighter with food, fun and fellowship.”

The event is free of charge and open to the public. There will be entertainment, food, and booths featuring organizations offering services, resources, and support to East Knoxville. Businesses, organizations, and groups are encouraged to participate in the tree decorating contest by adopting a tree in Walter Hardy Park to decorate by Friday, December 8th. All you need to do is select a tree and decorate it, making sure your organization is clearly identified on your tree. Call 865-604-0757 to provide your contact information and to submit your tree in the contest. Winners will be announced at the Winter Wonderland event.

Five Points Up is a community-led group, in partnership with the Knox County Health Department, and is supported by the City of Knoxville, East Knox Lions Club, and other community partners. The group’s mission is to reduce health inequities in the Five Points neighborhood through community-building events and projects.
