Local student receives Bright Futures College Scholarship From Kimberly-Clark

KNOXVILLE -- Kimberly-Clark has announced the recipients of its 2022 Bright Futures Scholarships. In Knoxville, where Kimberly-Clark has an administrative center, a college scholarship was awarded to Ella Knight. Knight is a senior at The Kings Academy and the daughter of Jennifer and Darryl Knight. She plans to attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Now in its 30th year, Bright Futures provides scholarship grants worth up to $20,000, or $5,000 per school year, to children of Kimberly-Clark employees throughout North America. Recipients are selected based on academic performance, community service, work experience, and involvement in extracurricular activities. This year, scholarships totaling $980,000 were awarded to 49 students in the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception, the program has granted $46 million in scholarships to nearly 2,300 students.





“We are proud to present Ella with a Bright Futures college scholarship in recognition of her academic accomplishments,” said Jenny Lewis, Vice President, Kimberly-Clark Foundation. “We wish her continued success as she pursues her goals in higher education.”

The average GPA for this year's Bright Futures scholarship class is 3.96. Awardees plan to attend leading colleges and universities including Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Wisconsin. Past scholarship recipients have gone on to pursue successful careers in medicine, education, the armed forces, and engineering.
