Summer Celebration Lawn and Garden Show set for July 8 online
June 25, 2021

Virtual event will feature livestreamed garden tours and
pre-recorded educational sessions

JACKSON, TN – The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture’s Summer Celebration Lawn and Garden Show is scheduled for July 8 and will be virtual this year. This online event is free and open to the public.

“We know that this year’s Summer Celebration looks a little different than field days past, but we are committed to providing the level of professional and educational experience that West Tennessee lawn and garden enthusiasts expect from the experts at UTIA,” says Scott Stewart, director of the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center. “Our specialists have developed a full schedule of informative online content, including virtual tours and presentations.”

Some of the presentations will be streamed live and will include tours of the UT Gardens, Jackson. Sessions covering more than 10 different topics will also be offered. Topics range from unique home fruits and medicinal herbs to crapemyrtle bark scale and native mushrooms found in Tennessee yards.

The livestream video will begin at 9 a.m. CDT and conclude at 12 p.m. Additional video content will be available in the afternoon. Pre-registration is not required. Registration and all content for this event will be available online.

Those who complete an evaluation of the program will be entered in a raffle to win a $100 voucher to use at the 2021 Fall Plant Sale scheduled for October 7-8 at the UT Gardens, Jackson.
