The first Spark Fun Run & Roll on Saturday, Oct. 23. at the Cove at Concord Park will offer options for all ages and abilities. You can register online for either a 2-mile walk, run or roll on wheelchair-friendly paved greenways, or a 4-mile trail run. The event will run from 9am to noon.
Spark is East Tennessee's technology access nonprofit agency for people with disabilities. It works to provide everything from mobility equipment to specially modified toys, depending on individual needs. You can find more information and ways to help at sparktn.org.
"This will be a great opportunity for whole families to come out, enjoy the beauty of the Cove, get some excercise and help support a great cause", said Spark Executive Director Mary Thom Adams. "An event open to people of all abilities is a perfect way to showcase Spark's work and the people we serve."
Runners, rollers or walkers at the Fun Run & Roll will receive race T-shirts and goody bags while helping to raise awareness of Spark's mission and services. Participants are encouraged to have family, friends or co-workers sponsor their race. All donations will go to support Spark's mission.
You can find all race and registration information at sparktn.org/fun-run-and-roll.
