KNOXVILLE - In a July board meeting, Knox Pride members passed a motion to fund a physical location for Knox Pride in South Knoxville. The community and outreach center is now hosting an open house and resource drive on October 3rd from 10 am - 6 pm.
The new center is located at 4028 Chapman Highway in downtown Knoxville on the lower level. Parking is suggested at Duff park.
At this drive, attendees will get a chance to donate things to the center and meet and greet with the board of directors as well as community members. Knox Pride is accepting donations for:
● Non-perishable food items
● Sanitary products
● Grooming products
● Makeup
● Households goods
Knox Pride hopes to use the space for outreach, events, connective services, and even resource storage. The board hopes that the community and outreach center will be a focal point for LGBTQ resources, events, group meetings, and more as the location grows and receives more funding from individuals and businesses.
With that, Knox Pride can use all the help it can get, your help especially. Donate to the cause and help Knox pride continue to fund the pride center at www.knoxpride.com/donate.
Recurring donations are greatly appreciated. Learn more about the pride center at knoxpride.com. You can email any questions about the community and resource center to john@knoxpride.com.
