Positively Living & Choice Health Network and Cherokee Distributing Company stand in solidarity with Knox Pride
Following the grand opening of Knox Pride’s Community Outreach Center on October 3, Knox Pride is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Positively Living & Choice Health Network. Choice Health Network will provide HIV testing, prevention, education, and other services at the Community Outreach Center beginning in November.
Cherokee Distributing Company contributed a $12,000 in support of the center which will serve the LGBTQ+ community in East Tennessee. Other notable contributions to the new center include Chip Barry and Travis Pyle ($1,500), South Press Coffee ($3,000), and The Tombras Group ($5,000). Numerous community members answered the call for non-perishable food items, sanitary products, grooming products, makeup, and household goods which will all be used to benefit the local LGBTQ+ community.
While these substantial donations are essential for our center, Knox Pride will need your continued support.
The Community Outreach Center is the first physical location to serve the LGBTQ+ community and resides at 4028 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. By having a brick-and-mortar location, Knox Pride president John Camp hopes this will “strengthen our community and bridge a gap between resources, community engagement, and individuals who need access to more opportunities.” Knox Pride wants to thank the Knox County community and surrounding areas for their initial support and hopes that, through continued efforts, the Community Outreach Center will thrive as a hub of resources and support for those who need it most.
If you are interested in making a donation or becoming a community partner, contact John Camp at john@knoxpride.com. If you would like to stop by and see the space between the hours of 10 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday, it is recommended that you park upstairs at Family Dollar and take the stairs down to the street level. Ongoing construction conducted by the city of Knoxville currently prevents parking at the front.
Please note that Knox Pride is a 100% volunteer organization and that they do not have dedicated staff at the community center. Any help and contributions are greatly appreciated and can be made at www.knoxpride.com/donate.
