Access-Life Expo is still strong in East Tennessee
May 26, 2021

The Bible says “Be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” This verse, along with many others, are the reasons why Access-Life are committed to having our Expos and making sure families and individuals have a great, full day even in the midst of the pandemic.

So, for the 12th consecutive year in Jefferson County, TN individuals and families living with disabilities are invited to a FREE four hour event that features boat rides, bank fishing, archery, kayaking, animals, arts and crafts, games, hay ride, lunch, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones and more. Don’t worry! Everyone will be safe while enjoying the day due to our medical protocols. With a limited capacity, a COVID screening, and no walk-ups allowed, you and your family will be able to attend worry free. All you have to do is pre-register on our website or call (352) 455-9926!

The Access-Life Expo which is an outreach of Access-Life, Inc. www.access-life.org will be held on June 26, 2021 from 10am to 2pm at the Cherokee Dam Park (2805 N Highway 92, Jefferson City, TN 37760).

Access-Life, Inc. which exists to develop and execute programs and events for people living with disabilities that share the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as connect them to Christ honoring churches, organizations, resources and people within their community, is based in Altoona, FL but executes community outreaches across the southeastern US and internationally in South Florida, North Texas, East Tennessee as well as Central Belize. It was founded and is run by Doug and Leanne Goddard who are a family living with disability themselves. They have recently hired an Events and Activities Coordinator, Julia Codispoti, as well as a summer intern, Kendahl Hancock.

Doug, Julia, and Kendahl all attended Jefferson County high school, but Doug’s experience was different than theirs. Doug became a quadriplegic in 1983, the summer between his sophomore and junior year, after unknowingly diving into shallow water due to the changing of the ocean tide. “God has been completely faithful to bring so much good to my life and help me overcome the challenges of my disability and that is the hope we pray those who come to our events can see and realize,” states Doug Goddard Co-Founder/Co-Director of the ministry. Julia and Kendahl both saw a similar need as Doug and Leanne, as they were the founders of Patriot Pals and Patriot Café, respectively. “There is a need to show that we all are equally the same in God’s eyes, each having unique gifts,” says Events and Activities Coordinator, Julia Codispoti.

Access-Life Expos are designed to provide a time of Christ centered encouragement, support and fun for individuals and families of all ages living with any disability. So come discover the gifts you and your loved ones may never have known existed.
