This weekend, May 9 & 10, Dianna Glandon, owner of Above the Rest Balloons, is at it again. This time, Glandon is creating, not one, but two large-scale balloon designs fronting Ebenezer as she joins with 1,900 other balloon professionals across the world in the “One Million Bubbles of Love” Project because nothing brings smiles to people’s faces like balloons do.
Glandon has been sending out hints via social media this week encouraging people to guess what is coming. Revealing the answer—the two designs are being created with love to spread love as they honor two important groups of people—2020 Graduates, who are missing out on so much this year, and Moms, who are especially deserving of love and attention.
Residents are welcome to stop and take photos with the large colorful love displays.
The professional balloon decorating and entertainment industry, of which Glandon is a part, wants to bring smiles and joy to people around the world. As a whole, the intent is for the professional balloon industry to share their talents and skills to help bring happiness to as many lives as they can and remind the world that hope and kindness abounds. As a member of the Blue Grass community for 47 years, Glandon is serving by using her talents to keep spirits as high as she can within her community and to spread JOY.
The first One Million Bubbles was held on March 26th, 2020 with over 350 designers participating from 15 countries. The second One Million Bubbles was held on April 11th & 12th with nearly 1900 designers participating from 81 countries.
Founded in 2006, Above the Rest Balloon and Event Design is headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee. Owner Dianna Glandon is one of only 3,000 Certified Balloon Artists around the world. Her team’s award-winning designs have received multiple recognitions at The World Balloon Convention, FLOAT Convention and more. She has taught fellow artists at annual conventions.
