Comcast NBCUniversal awards $60,000 in scholarships to 24 Tennessee high school seniors

KNOXVILLE – Comcast NBCUniversal today announced it has awarded approximately $60,000 in scholarships for the 2020-2021 school year to 24 Tennessee students as part of its annual Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program. Students are selected for their outstanding community service, academic performance, and leadership skills. The award, funded by the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, is a one-time, $2,500 scholarship to be used toward undergraduate education-related expenses. Since 2001, about $33 million has been awarded to about 30,000 high school seniors across the country as part of the Leaders and Achievers program.

“I am incredibly proud of every single one of you for working so hard for this moment,” said Tennessee’s First Lady Maria Lee to the Tennessee scholarships winners during an online celebration hosted by Comcast. “I know this was not the year you expected, but I commend you for making the most of it and choosing to exceed expectations. Now is your chance to find your passion and pursue your dreams.”
