SEVIERVILLE, TN – Wilderness at the Smokies “Funds for Food Drive” is returning October 25, October 28- November 1, and November 4-8. During these days, from 10 am to 8 pm, TN residents can purchase a day pass to our indoor waterpark for just $12 plus tax and all proceeds will go to Sevier County Food Ministries. Passes can be purchased at the Base Camp in River Lodge.
Sevier County Food Ministries is a voluntary interfaith ministry founded in 1992 in downtown Sevierville to help assure that no one in Sevier County goes hungry. Food and monetary donations to purchase food are contributed by caring individuals, churches, businesses, clubs, groups and many other persons and organizations. Their mission is to feed the hungry. The program is an emergency food resource for persons experiencing a food shortage. Those in need may come once a week for as long as they are experiencing difficulties. In addition to practical support, this ministry offers prayer and counsel for those who request it.
“Sevier County Food Ministries is doing wonderful work to help our neighbors who for whatever reason are struggling,” said Pete Tennis, general manager for Wilderness at the Smokies. “We are so grateful to have them in our community and are really proud to be helping them again.”
In 2018, Wilderness at the Smokies donated $6,650 to this wonderful organization. For more information on Sevier County Food Ministries visit seviercountyfoodministries.org.
