Cats invading Pigeon Forge

  cat show

PIGEON FORGE, TN — Beautiful cats, cats with lots of coat, naked cats, curly coated cats, folded eared cats, curled eared cats, cats with short legs and short tails — the best of the best cats in the region will be in Pigeon Forge, TN this weekend. More than 250 cats will be coming to the southeast’s largest TICA cat show at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center. Volunteer Cat Club is hosting the annual event.

”Cats at cat shows score points, not for money but for the love of competing" says Stephanie Smith Volunteer Cat Club president and a proud TICA cat show judge. "We love our cats and want everyone to become educated in different breeds as well as their health and the importance of the continuation of the breeds purity."

There will be six different shows each day, while kittens and cats of numerous breeds compete for regional and international wins.

Last year VCC was able to donate $400.00 to a family whose home was destroyed by fire and lost many of their beloved cats, through a bake sale during the event.

The show will be held Saturday, October 28 and Sunday October 29 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center located behind the Ramada Inn in Pigeon Forge.

Bring cat food for the shelter, dress up as a cat, bring candy for locals in the community and get $1.00 off the admission of $6.00.
