KNOXVILLE — Sometimes passionate leadership, the theme of this year’s East Tennessee Women’s Leadership Summit, requires being able to strike out into uncharted territory at any stage of life. According to a Gallup survey on the American workplace, 70% of American workers are unengaged and are emotionally disconnected at work. When individuals find themselves unsatisfied in their careers, some make the choice to seek out a new path. The February Women’s Leadership Salon, hosted by the East Tennessee Women’s Leadership Summit, presents a panel of three women who have made this transition.
The February Salon, Second Acts, features women who have successfully made significant career changes: Raeus Jae Cannon, Dianna Glandon, and Jane Hall. Raeus left her career as a drug and alcohol counselor to explore running an alternative newspaper, a greeting card company, and eventually becoming CEO of her own networking company, REO. Dianna is a former teacher who has become a certified balloon artist and owns her own company, Above the Rest Balloon and Event Design. Jane was a cardiac care nurse, but has found her calling as a vocational expert.
The Salon will take place on February 12th at The Avenue, 141 N. Martinwood Rd., Knoxville, 37923 in West Knoxville at 5:45 p.m.
Registration is $26. To register, go to EastTNWomensLS.com.
The Salon is a volunteer effort of the East Tennessee Women’s Leadership Council, chaired by Wendy Pitts Reeves. The Summit is an outgrowth of the Tennessee Economic Council on Women. For more information go to EastTNWomensLS.com/Leadership-Salon or on Facebook: www.facebook.com/ETWomenLead.
