Get your fall blooms on at the UT Arboretum Society’s Annual Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UT Arboretum located at 901 S. Illinois Ave. in Oak Ridge.

Experts say fall is the ideal time to add plants to the landscape. Milder temperatures, more dependable rainfall, and the fact that plants are devoting all their resources to developing a stronger root system rather than to top growth, will give your landscape a head start in the spring and a much better survival rate.

Beaver Creek Nursery, East Fork Nursery, Riverdale Nursery, Sunlight Gardens, as well as the UT Arboretum Society’s members and friends will offer a variety of high-quality plants for sale.

Will Witte, the Arboretum Society’s “Answer Man,” and a retired member of the faculty of the UT Institute of Agriculture, will be there to answer all of your plant questions. Dano’s Hot Dogs will be selling their popular dogs and lemonade.

Proceeds from this sale and other Society events go to support and secure the future of the UT Arboretum in Oak Ridge.

The University of Tennessee Arboretum is a project of the UT Forest AgResearch and Education Center. It features several miles of short walking trails that crisscross approximately 250 acres of forest where visitors can enjoy the outdoors.
