Jonah’s Journey hosting 2015 Caregivers Conference

KNOXVILLE – Jonah’s Journey is holding its 2015 Caregivers Conference March 13-14, 2015 at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee. This conference is offering an opportunity to connect foster and adoptive parents in communities with one another and provide educational tools to help empower their parenting journey through speaker-led seminars and breakout sessions.

“The Caregiver Conference is a fantastic opportunity for encouragement and education,” says Drake Bassett, CEO of Palmer Home for Children and Jonah’s Journey. “People with a passion for helping children will hear from inspiring speakers, gain new insights, and connect with like-minded people. We have been moved by the spirit of compassion and service that characterizes caregiver families and it is our desire to provide an experience that will reinforce their personal mission while opening doors to others who are considering foster care or adoption.”

Among the list of conference speakers is child and family therapist and author, Deborah Gray; Elizabeth Scaife of Shared Hope International (sharedhope.org); and Tyrone Flowers, founder of Higher M-Pact (higherimpact.org). Attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on general sessions and several breakout seminars throughout the two-day conference. Topics include developing spiritual growth in children, creative discipline for children with a traumatic past, and preparing the entire family for the arrival of a foster or adopted child.

Couple registration is $70 and individual registration is $55. Conference information and ticket sales can be found at www.jonahsjourney.org/conference.
