PIGEON FORGE, TN – It’s almost Jeep time in Pigeon Forge. On August 29, 2015 more than 1,000 Jeeps and thousands of Jeep aficionados will gather at the LeConte Center for the third annual Great Smoky Mountains Jeep Invasion. This is a public event. Tickets are $5.
Over 25 national and local Jeep parts vendors will be selling Jeep accessories and outdoor and off-road products. National vendors such as Rugged Ridge, Smittybilt, Rubicon Express, and Quadratec as well as local vendors, including Jeepism and Eco Trek Campers, will be showcasing their products. The event’s “All Jeep Show” will have vehicles on display for judging in several competition categories.
The event’s Charity “Smoky Mountain Service Dogs” will be attending, and a charity raffle will be held to raise money for this organization. The event has raised over $5,500 the past two years.
The 2014 event drew between 1,500 and 2,000 participants and spectators from 17 states, some as distant as Wisconsin and New York. Contingents from Jeep clubs in New York, Illinois, Ohio, N & S. Carolina also attended.
The event is sponsored by Smoky Mountain Jeep Club which is headquartered in Maryville, Tenn. and has more than 950 registered members.
The club’s first Jeep Invasion was held in Townsend in 2013 and drew 165 Jeeps, and the second one was in Pigeon Forge in 2014 and drew over 750 Jeeps. Both were outdoor events.
