KNOXVILLE — A Knoxville man has received recognition for contributing more than 50 hours of volunteer service in the community. AARP Services Inc. says Blake McCoy has displayed exceptional community service in Knoxville and the surrounding counties by volunteering and supporting numerous senior citizen organizations. He is also a recognized leader in his field and serves on the O’Connor Senior Center Advisory board and the Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
“We believe in the power of one,” says Lawrence P. Flanagan, president of AARP Services Inc. “One AARP encouraging members ‘to serve, not to be served,’ which was one of AARP founder Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus’ mottos, and the power of one person in their community to make a difference.”
AARP Services Inc. tracks the volunteer service hours of agents who are authorized to offer AARP branded products and who engage and serve the community.
“I am honored to be recognized by AARP and ASI for the hours of community service I performed,” said Blake McCoy. “And look forward to continuing to volunteer.”
McCoy is the Founder and CEO of Independent Insurance Consultants, an independent insurance firm that assists senior citizens with their insurance and financial needs. He has a passion to educate, help, and learn more from the senior citizen community.
